iPhone Process

Understanding the Vision

During this phase we concentrate on clarifying our client's vision, which entails defining the overall scope of the project and understanding what value the application will be adding at the end of the day.  Generally this is done over the course of 2 to 3 key strategy meetings, and sometimes this occurs before we even strike a contract.  We make sure our clients are at ease with our process.

Requirements gathering

Once the Vision has been fine tuned and is transparent by both parties, we define each feature of the application and the functional requirements of each feature.  This will give us a great indication for the entirity of the project, and help to understand the life cycle of the application development.

Specification Development

Under this phase, the Requirements from the previous section are transparent and the development of a detailed specifications document is begun.  During this phase our talented functional writers take the vision and requirements and develop a specificaiton document that contains the functional details, followed by the technical specifications of the application.

User Interface Design

After the Sign off of the Specification Document, we then create Photo Shop Design Files that we arrange in a storyboard so that you can visually see your application.  Many times because of the time constraints of the project, this phase is done through video, where walkthroughs of the app are shown.

Build Phase

Once the Specification and User Interface Design have been accepted, the next step is building the Alpha version of the product.  In the first test, we show simulations of the iPhone app through a series of videos.  In the second test, we complete and load up the application onto the apple developer portal.  Here we can assign certificates to the iPhones so you can see and test the product.

Unit/Feature Testing

During this phase our Quality Assurance Manager, and a QA individual on the client side, will go through and determine the usability of the application and make suggestions.   During this phase we also ensure that all items of the features and requirements are met.  Once this phase is completed, we are ready to launch your application.

Apple acceptance process

The apple acceptance process can take from 2-4 weeks for any individual application to be accepted to the app store.  This is determined by the complexity of the application, and makes sure that all rules for application development are met.  This also ensures only high quality applications are available on the app store.
